The Uptown Business Association has been right behind Paul Baragwanath and the Friends of St David's Trust in their vision to restore the magnificent Kāhui St David's and transform it into a new home for music and the performing arts.

This vision is now a reality. Kāhui St David's has a steady stream of upcoming events on its calendar, from album launches to concerts and performances. And there is something special about experiencing music here. Sitting beneath the soaring architecture, hearing the beautiful acoustics and taking in the atmosphere of this remarkable historic building makes for a very different experience from an ordinary concert venue.

The Great Hall is a remarkable space, lovingly restored and now once again filled with music. At its heart is the newly restored 1904 Croft organ, giving audiences the opportunity to hear its magnificent sound in the space for which it was built.

The restoration and renewal of the church has been made possible through the generosity of patrons and the sale of artworks. Visitors can also view the latest works by artist Peata Larkin, created as part of the Art of Remembrance project, which has played an important role in the campaign to save and renew Kāhui St David's.

The artworks have an ethereal, shimmering quality. "At a time of much conflict in the world, their captivating beauty and transcendent energy - an upward flow - bring our awareness to the big picture, the oneness of existence," says Paul Baragwanath, Director of Kāhui St David's and curator of the art programme.

HINA is the creative mantle of Tāmaki Makaurau-based songwriter Amy Boroevich (Te Rarawa, Ngāti Raukawa Te Au ki te Tonga). With a sound described by Remix Magazine as "genre-fluid", HINA has emerged as one of New Zealand's most captivating new voices.
