Uptown Sounds is a hit!
On February 15th Basque Park came alive, as one of Auckland Council’s Music In Parks took place in Uptown.
Emerging from the surrounding apartments and beyond, people of all ages sat on their picnic rugs or got up and danced, ate delicious food from the food trucks, had their faces painted and enjoyed the sunshine. All while listening to great kiwi music!
Headlining alt-pop band Pluto were a hit, as were the other artists who performed; the hidden gem of a singer-songwriter Ed Waaka, drums and electronic fusion act SOJOURN, and alternative RnB band The BackChat.
Aotearoa’s beloved Suzy Cato hosted the kids stage, leading an exciting line-up of young artists to an enthusiastic audience of kids.
There was a great feeling of community at the first ever Uptown Sounds. Check out the video and image gallery below to catch a glimpse of what happened!
