ANZAC event draws crowds to St David’s Uptown
Over 400 people attended “The Art of Remembrance” in the grounds of St David’s Church on ANZAC Eve.
The Uptown landmark was recently awarded Category A Historic Heritage Status.
More than 100 volunteers delivered hundreds of hours of pro bono work to produce the event. Mezzo Soprano Kristin Darragh delivered a stirring version of Danny Boy along with the other musical performances and speeches. The Hon Phil Goff, Mayor of Auckland, addressed the crowd. It was a beautiful evening remembering the service contribution of those who sacrificed much.
The Uptown Business Association supported the event through funding the illumination of the exterior of St David’s.
